Let's Talk About Movement.
Movement is essential to our existence. It strengthens our heart, lungs, bones, and muscles. It improves our physical, mental, and emotional health. It fuels our bodies and our minds.
Movement is so many things. It is dancing, swimming, walking, running, climbing, biking, lifting, surfing, skating, and so much more!
Movement is healthcare. It is a right and a necessity. But not everyone has access to it.
Let's Talk About Accessibility.
Having access to movement means having:
Nearby spaces or places like sidewalks, trails, pools, parks, gyms, rec centers, or space in your home.
Money for clothes, equipment, internet access + devices, a gym membership or class subscription, transportation, or childcare.
Outdoor space away from traffic, well lit, free from harassment, racism, and crime. Gyms that are clean, well-maintained, and free from harassment.
Diversity, representation, respect for all bodies
and gender identities; accommodating of religious requirements, non-native language speakers, disabilities and movement limitations.
